WhatIWore: Good morning! We’re off to a sunny start and I’m posting this before Felix and I take off on our adventures (read: errands) for the day. This is my kind of fall outfit! I’m wearing a new hat (part of my new collection for Stars and Field!) and these awesome over the knee boots from Rockport. I’m balancing out what could be super sexy with more comfy and wholesome options - like the jeans and cable knit turtleneck. I’m partnering with Rockport for the rest of the year as a brand ambassador (I’m a huge fan of the comfort factor! and will be bringing you sneak peeks of new styles, like these boots, plus discounts. Stay tuned!)

What:
Hat: Stars and Field
Shades: Karen Walker Super Duper
Sweater: Lands’ End
Jeans: J.Crew
Boots: Rockport (launching on Zappos.com next week, I’ll let you know when they go live!)

Where: Out and about

Also of note - I debuted my fall hat collection this morning on my etsy store, Stars and Field! If you see something you like but would fancy a different color combination, please let me know. Custom orders are available with a small wait time (2-4 weeks!)

WhatIWore: Wouldn’t it be amazing if the calendar flipped to spring and all of a sudden the weather followed suit? Thankfully we don’t have snow like the East Coast, but it’s been pretty hum drum rainy and cold here. I’d love to break out my spring dresses and skirts but I know there will be plenty of time in the coming months.

On the bright side, I haven’t been able to wear these jeans in over a year and I’m so excited to have them on! Flares seems to be a style that never goes completely out but aren’t the it style right now either. I like them because I think they’re super flattering and I’ve had this particular pair in my closet for years.

When: March 24, 2015

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Scarf: Target (last season)
Mint Sweater: J.Crew
White Moto Jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors (similar)
Jeans: Earnest Sewn (older style)
Booties: L.L. Bean Signature
Bag: Lancel

Where: Breakfast with my boys, errands

Why: Outfit wise, I kept thinking back to these photos and decided to do the same mint and white pairing on top. I added in a spring scarf to pull it all together, although I wish I would have had a little more time this morning to think about accessories. C’est la vie of a mom, i guess.

What I Wore | Out with the Old

WhatIWore: First up - Happy New Year!! I hope your year is already off to a great start and you’re looking forward to 2015 as much as I am. I’m SO ready to get back into the groove of things and I finally feel like I’m adjusting nicely to being a new mom AND back to being myself. I want to write about this in depth later, but during those first weeks and months I went through one hell of an identity crisis.

Anyway, I love starting fresh at the beginning of the year (see my resolutions here) so I decided to chop off my hair. I usually decide to do drastic cuts and schedule them within a day or two and just go for it. Sitting in the chair I had absolutely no emotional response, which was kind of weird! I like it a lot and it’s easy to care for, which is basically the main point for me. I’ll be sure to photograph it without a hat soon so you can see the full ‘do.

When: December 29, 2014

What:
Hat: Self Made
Shades: Cactus Flower (local boutique)
Sweater: J.Crew
Coat: Gift (similar)
Jeans: J.Crew (40% off with code STYLE2015)
Booties: Frye 'Patty’
Bag: DvF (on sale)

Where: Running Errands with the bebe

Why: You may be reading this text and wonder why the hell I’d be getting dressed up to run errands in my small little Midwestern town? Because it’s the cardinal rule of grocery store shopping that you WILL RUN INTO SOMEONE YOU KNOW when you look like hell. And when I look that bad, it’s time for daddy to take over baby duty and for me to get some time to rest/shower instead of going to the store. #amiright

Also…this coat! It was actually a Christmas gift over 10 years ago from my mom! I was going through a 'camel’ phase and she tracked down this beauty.  There were a lot of years I was on the fence about it, but I’m glad I kept it because it reads sort of aprés ski chic to me.

WhatIWore: Besides my trusty pair of jeans, a cream turtleneck sweater has been my number one go to this fall (this is the outfit I wear on repeat these days). Above - four of my favorite other ways to wear this versatile cold weather piece.
