Inspired By | Pale Pink Coats

WhatIWore: I can’t say I love getting ready in the winter (or taking outfit photos in sub freezing weather!!) but I am excited to move more of my closet back into rotation after our daughter is born. I’m in absolutely no rush to fit into a certain size, but it will be nice to button my coat again! I actually popped a button off my peacoat over the weekend. it’s getting pretty crowded up in here! 

That coat actually got me to thinking - my basic coats - the wool black and navy versions are styles I’ve had for years. I want to stress that I don’t think you need a new coat every year - and if you care for them well, you should be able to wear the same one for ten years (I’m getting close with my classic long black coat!). That said, I have been inspired by some pale pink versions lately, so I made up a little inspiration board in case I just happen to find one that’s just the right shade of blush. I really like the nubby textured fabrics too. Is it too much to make a birthday wish for a vintage version? We’ll see! In the meantime, I’ve tracked down some buy-now styles below. 

Our 2016 Holiday Cards!

Here’s our 2016 Holiday card! After missing the boat on last season’s cards, I did a little more planning this year and used a photo from this post to create our design! 

Like our 2014 cards, I used Minted to have them printed (their 20% off Cyber Monday with code CM2016 sale ends at noon eastern time today!) I just get the base paper stock and envelopes but I think they’re still very high quality. I used a discount code I got in the mail, so if you still haven’t created your cards, I suggest at least getting on their email list for a percentage off. Only 27 days until Christmas!

WhatIWore: Can you believe we’re under a month away from Christmas!?! Where did November go? I’m not complaining, especially not this year - I’m in countdown mode for our due date!

What I Wore | Fair Isle

WhatIWore: Some winter in the not so distant future (three? four years?), I’m going to attempt my own top down multicolored fair isle sweater. Sadly, this is not the year. I doubt next year will be either. 

In the meantime, they’re on an on trend piece, so they’re available at a variety of price points from different stores. I spotted this one, hiding behind a brighter cousin, last weekend. I love the muted neutral tones and believe it or not, it’s not a maternity style. It under $40 but looks so much more lux to me!!

I’ve styled it in my go-to casual yet (kinda?) chic uniform. Jeans, OTK boots, big sunglasses and a hat. The boots seem to balance out my bump nicely and they’re warm and comfortable. Bonus points for getting up, getting ready, and getting out the door in under a half hour!
