WhatIWore: Do these jeans look familiar? They’re the other pair of Point Sur denim that I was debating on getting (and asked your advice on!) They went on sale and I had a bit of play money for the month, so I got ‘em. I’m so glad I did! I love how different they are from what’s in my current closet. Sometimes a fresh silhouette can really spark inspiration for me. And not like Jessica-as-70s-mommy is a new look for me, but I usually feel more bohemian in with my fall wardrobe versus spring.  My top is also new and it’s from Target. For reference I sized down to an extra small because although I like flowy tops these days, I don’t want to be swimming in them. The belt is Target too!

When: May 2, 2016

What:
Shades: Target
Blouse: Target
Jeans: Point Sur for J.Crew
Belt: Target
Ring: Chase and Scout Design on Etsy
Bag: Frye
Sandals: Gift courtesy of Clark’s from last summer

Where: Errands with Felix and then working at the coffee shop

In addition to all of the jeans I’ve been wearing lately, I’m really into variations on a white shirt. I made that eyelet one, there’s my creamish colored eyelet from a few years ago, and I have a few others in line to be worn.

WhatIWore: Minus the bright mint dress I wore last weekend, and a few vintage pieces here and there, I’ve been in a neutral mood with my spring closet. But neutral doesn’t have to be boring! I picked up this simple sleeveless black button down at Target over the weekend. It’s one of those silhouette that feels very retro to me - so I styled it with a circle skirt! Accessory wise, I went with brown - a combination I’ve done quite a bit in the past! Overall, I just love this kind of outfit.  In a way, it represents who I used to be and who I’m becoming. I’m not sure I can explain it much more than that, but I’ve definitely felt a shift in personal style, career ambitions and how those interact with motherhood. I just feel different than I did two or three or ten years ago and I can see it reflected in how I dress. All good changes if you ask me!

WhatIWore: This little black skirt is such a workhorse in my closet! I bought it a couple of years ago at Target and it’s got a nice amount of stretch (I wore it for my early pregnancy too). Just because a piece is a bargain doesn’t mean you can’t wear it tons of ways! This time, I’m going to the far reaches of how edgy I can get (which admittedly isn’t that far), but I like the vibe that’s happening here.

When: Late September

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Sweater: ModCloth
Skirt: Target (older style, similar here for under $40)
Bag: Coach
Booties: Rag + Bone

Where: Coffee Shop, Meetings

I’ve had a few comments on the size of my shades lately… I know they are big for my face!! Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O also wore sunglasses too big for their faces too! I know not everything I wear will please everyone, but that’s not the mission I’m on. Gotta wear what you love! And I love wearing super sized sunnies!

WhatIWore: There’s been a theme going around the blog world lately of putting together “uniforms” or outfit pieces to wear in a lot of different ways. I’m no stranger to the idea of mixing and matching my clothes or wearing the same thing over and over again. Case in point, I bought this aran turtleneck sweater in two different colors (see in cream here and currently 25% off with TGIFALL) and I wear them ALL OF THE TIME with a v-neck underneath for easy nursing access. I also added a pair of fit-me-now black jeans that I’m getting a lot of wear from too.

When: October 18, 2014

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Northern Lights’
Sweater: J.Crew (use code TGIFALL to save 25%)
Bag: Diane von Furstenberg
Jeans: Target
Flats: J.Crew (25% off with code TGIFALL)

Where: Walk downtown and breakfast with my boy!

Another note worthy part of my outfit - the leopard on leopard accessories. I know matchy matchy isn’t for everyone, but i really like the way the bag and shoes work together. They were big splurges, but while I’m in between sizes in pants, tops and dresses, I wanted to add a few wear forever items to my closet this season. See also: I hardly bought anything this spring and summer so I’ve been saving for a long time!

There’s something else I need to get off my chest… literally! I do NOT know how to work with these nursing boobs! I don’t even know what cup size I’m working with because I’ve been wearing XL sleeping bras constantly (just so much easier when paired with a vneck and layers). I feel like these ta tas make me look so much larger overall and I could really use some recommendations for some quality, supporting nursing bras! If you have any recs, please let me know!
