WhatIWore: With less than a month until our due date (!!!), we’re trying something different this year for the holidays - everyone is coming to us!! We’ll be celebrating with my family one weekend, Adam’s side on another and our friends too - all without leaving town! Luckily everyone is willing to travel!

We’re also hosting in a low key mode. The parents are taking care of food and we’re going simple with everything else. That said, I still want to dress up, just a little bit, when everyone comes over.

I’m also to the point where buying more maternity pieces isn’t especially practical, so I’ve turned towards either accessories or regular size items. Enter my new jacquard jacket and costume jewelry! This is what I plan to wear for one or all of our gatherings.

What:
Jacket: Old Navy via giftcard
Maternity Tee: gift of A Pea in the Pod
Jeans: Jeans: AG ‘Stilt’, (non maternity here
Booties: gift of Rockport from last year
Jewelry (all thanks to an Old Navy gift card): Earrings, Necklace, Leaf Ring, Stone Ring

Where: Hosting Holiday parties at home!

This jacket struck me because it looks so vintage! Lucky me, it was under $40 and from Old Navy (today’s post sponsors - thanks guys!) The remaining sizes are limited online, so check in at your local store too!

Because we will be at home, the pieces I’ve worn underneath are pretty simple - a fitted maternity tee shirt and jeans. I’ll end up in socks or house slippers by the end, but any cute black boot or bootie would complete this outfit.

Finally, while I have the chance, I decided to get some earrings and a longer length necklace (babies are the grabbiest, amirite?). There’s a huge selection in stores, as well as some pieces online here

Mama needs a new ‘do. I’ve been progressively adding more and more highlights with each salon visit and I want to go with a) even more and b) even lighter. I realize this is high maintenance, but my salon is right down the street and I actually think it’s wise for new moms to schedule in time for self care. If it’s not on the calendar, it’s less likely to happen (at least in my world!)

Length wise, I’m aiming somewhere between chin and collar bone. I’ll just go with what my stylist thinks would look best on me! Above are the photos I’ll take with me to my appointment! It’s not scheduled for another week, so I have a little time to think about it, but I’m really excited to take on something a bit more edgy!

WhatIWore: Hey hey hey! I may be lacking on sleep, but at least I’m not on jury duty this morning! Woooo!!! I got called to be a December juror and had previously been notified that I needed to report this morning. Luckily that case has been cancelled or moved, so I won’t need to check in again until next Sunday. I’ve only ever been called to be a juror in Brooklyn (and was not selected), so I’m really interested in the process, but I doubt the near term pregnant gal is going to be selected. Who knows! This is my last week with my sitter so I hope I can really get a lot of work done and find myself being pretty pleased that I still have a chance to set up my laptop and sip a cup of coffee to focus!

Anyway, here’s an outfit I wore last week. I’m either resorting to very basic pieces (maternity jeans and tees) or trying to recreate older outfits. You’ll recognize it as a top here, and as a dress for all seasons (see ideas for spring, summer, fall & winter).

When: December 1, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Jacket: Old Navy (older style)
Dress: Vintage
Jeans: Jeans: AG ‘Stilt’, (non maternity here)
Boots: gift of Rockport, from last fall (similar under $100)

Where: Holiday Errands (oh-so-many!!!)

For those of you trying to help me out on the Great Pink Coat Hunt of 2016, I’ve found two options that I’m hovering between: a fuzzy number and a more classic (but way more expensive) wool blend coat. What do you think? If anyone has any insider tips (discount codes?!) - hook me up!

Also: Today’s post title is my goal this week: I’m going to get through this week without complaining about… ANYTHING!

WhatIWore: Morning everyone! Here’s what I wore earlier in the week for a coffee shop session and later for errands. I’ll admit I’m rather happy about winding down with the blog for a while - between the post election fall out, the holidays and being closer and closer to my due date, my heart just isn’t as into blogging these days. And that’s ok! I have a goal of shooting another 4-5 outfit posts, plus some inspiration boards, and photos of my daughter’s nursery and then… it’s maternity leave baby! Which all new moms and dads know is more like boot camp than a spa day… but bring it on! I’m ready to meet this little lady!

When: November 29, 2016

What
Shades: Karen Walker
Sweater: Motherhood Maternity
Coat: Vintage
Jeans: Jeans: AG ‘Stilt’, (non maternity here
Booties: Rag and Bone

Where: Coffee Shop, Grocery

When I got dressed this morning I thought back to one of my favorite outfits of all time (from three years ago!) and did my best to make it work for pregnancy. This bump feels more like a basketball and even some of my maternity pieces are getting tight!

I don’t wear this coat/jacket often, but it’s a vintage piece I’ll never let go of. The precise matching of the stripes just screams quality - it’s not easy to cut or sew something so geometric!
